That’s why fear is so confounding, and so tricky. Because when fear is having its way with us, we rarely say we’re afraid or I’m scared. For most of us, those words never enter our consciousness so why would we ever think it has anything to do with fear!?!?

Fear has one job, and it does it very, very well. (Maybe too well?) It can overcorrect and keep us stuck, immobilized, unable to make a decision or move forward. It tells us the solutions to our current problems lie in fixing the past, fixing us!

I never thought I was afraid. I always had a really good reason that explained why I was stalled for years, unable to move forward.
