A mother recently widowed lives with her daughter, son-in-law, and their two children. When she first moved in, she didn’t know where she fit in, so she talked to her daughter about how she could help out. (When your Love Tank is full, you’re not afraid to have difficult conversations.)

And with so much love surrounding her, "Grandma" is taking more risks than ever.

Last week, she visited the local library to join a book club that she discovered in the hopes of making new friends or maybe even meeting a potential date. Oh, and she's turned the corner of her bedroom into a mini art studio, so she has a place to feed her long-lost passion for painting.

She feels alive and is thriving and is so glad she didn't let fear stop her from moving in with her daughter's family.

She tries to just stay out of their way so she’s not more of a burden, so even though she’s surrounded by people, she’s always lonely.

The daughter loves her mom, but with her staying in her room all day, she’s not contributing anything to the family. The daughter sees her mom as one more person to take care of in an already overburdened schedule. And her mom seems so sad about the whole arrangement, it leaves a cloak of depression over the whole house.

What’s the difference? Perspective!

People who are full of love find ways to connect and contribute. They want to thrive, so they look for ways to increase love and happiness in their life.

People with empty Love Tanks emanate negative energy and get negative results. They are exhausted and have little energy to change. They want to do more and be happier, but it just doesn’t seem to be working out for them. They look around and wonder how their life ended up like this.
